
Paxton Pits Nature Reserve
Paxton Pits, just a short walk from Little Paxton village on our route 66, has 78 hectares of lakes, riverside meadow and woodland. Originally a working gravel quarry, the open pits have been flooded and become then wildlife haven you can visit today.
You might see nightingales, cormorants, kingfishers, deer and a wide range of flowers and plants.
Enjoy some time in nature, take a picnic or make use of the on-site visitor centre which sells drinks, snacks and even bird food.
Get off the bus in Gordon Road, Little Paxton.
