Some of our fares are changing

Whippet will be revising our ticket prices – some for the first time in as long as six years – starting on Monday 4 December 2023.

Whippet has always strived to offer some of the best-value tickets for travel across the region. In the past few years, however, we have faced some substantial cost increases and unfortunately need to increase the price of our tickets to allow us to invest in continued improvements to our bus fleet and fantastic team of staff who work with us. In the past year alone, we have invested £3.7m in new buses for Cambridgeshire, alongside a new website, mobile app and improved bus stop information.

We are proud to remain supporters of the Government’s £2 fare cap – a voluntary scheme for bus services in England, meaning the maximum single fare on any of our routes is just £2. We’re part of the scheme until the end of December 2023, while we wait for details of the scheme for 2024 to be confirmed.

The new ticket prices for our adult passes will be:

All zone rover tickets
No change to day ticket prices
7 day £28 (£25 on our app)
28 day £90 (£89 on our app)

Cambridge city rover tickets
1 day £3.50

28 day £42 (£34 on our app)

Purple single tickets £1.70
Universal single tickets remain at £1 for Cambridge University staff and students

28 day £50 (£48 on our app)

St Neots rover tickets
