Huntingdon

The historic market town of Huntingdon, given its town charter by King John in 1205 and served as the county town of the historic county of Huntingdonshire, is known for its bustling streets with a range of independent shops and high street favorites.

Explore its rich history and enjoy various attractions - look out for The Thinking Soldier War Memorial, standing as a tribute to the town's past. The town also boasts a well-preserved medieval bridge that used to serve as the main route of Ermine Street over the river. History buffs can visit the site of Huntingdon Castle dating back as far as 1068, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and home to a beacon commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Spanish Armada.

We particularly enjoy browsing Cambs Lock Antiques & Collectables shop, just around the corner from the bus station, and The Cromwell Musuem.
