Part closure of Hills Road, Cambridge

Part of Hills Road will be closed between 30 March and 18 April 2026. Buses on Universal towards Eddington & Girton won't be able to call at the following stops during the closure:

• Botantic Garden
• Brooklands Avenue (Bowling Club & Shaftsbury Avenue)
• Bateman Street (Ley's School)

Please use bus stops at either Cambridge rail station or The Fitzwilliam Museum during the closure.

Buses towards the Biomedical Campus are unaffected and will call at all stops as normal.

Southern Busway track closure - Universal buses diverted

Part of the Busway track between Cambridge rail station and the Biomedical Campus will be closed from 2 March 2026. Buses on Universal won't be able to use the Busway for northbound journeys (towards Eddington/Girton).

Buses on routes U1 and U2 will run on a one-way loop - using the Busway track from the station to the Biomedical Campus, serving all stops on the campus, then travelling northbound on Hills Road back to the station. 

This means bus stops on Hills Road won't be served by Universal buses going towards the Biomedical Campus.

If you're travelling to stops on Hills Road, you can stay on the bus for no extra charge via the Biomedical Campus.

Closure of Busway track at Histon

Part of the Busway track at Histon will be closed for maintenance from 1 December. Buses on Tiger 1 won't be able to call at the stop on the track at Histon going towards Cambridge - please use the stop on Cambridge Road instead.

The diversion buses are following may take slightly longer than normal - we're working hard to minimise delays to buses.

Buses going towards Huntingdon will still be able to serve the usual stop at Histon.

From 1 December 2025

Alms Hill / High Street closure, Bourn

Alms Hill and the High Street in Bourn is closed from 1 April emergency road works to take place.

Buses on routes 18/18a are not able to pick up in Bourn village between Broadway and Short Street. Please use alternative bus stops on Toft Road or at Cambourne Morrisons.

The Avenue, Godmanchester, closed

Part of The Avenue in Godmanchester will be closed on Good Friday, 3 April, between 8am and 3:30pm. Buses on X3 will be unable to call at the following stops:

• Church Place, Godmanchester
• Park Lane, Godmanchester

Please use stops at either Huntingdon bus station or Silver Street (Godmanchester) during these times instead.
