Sun, sea & sand - enjoy a day on the coast
We're running direct buses to the coast this summer, starting 24 May and running every Saturday and Sunday until 31 August 2025. Plus, buses will run on both the late spring and August bank holiday Mondays.
There's so much to see and do while you're there, from the fun fair and amusements at Hunstanton to the world-famous Norfolk Lavender. Here are some ideas for a great day out.
Norfolk Lavender
Running for almost a century and with almost 100 acres of peaceful lavender farm, it's a whole day out in itself. Enjoy wandering through the extensive gardens where you'll see over 50 varieties of lavender that form the National Collection along with other plants and even 20 species of bamboo. There's an on-site tearoom, restaurant, children's play park, gift shop and plant centre. Guided tours of the farm run throughout the summer.

The amusement arcade at Hunstanton Pier
Right in the town centre, the arcade has something for everyone - from traditional slot machines and toy grabbers to family games and Mr Coggin's shooting range. While you're there, why not try your hand at 10 pin bowling on the upper floor, or visit the ice cream kiosk?

Browse the shops and enjoy fish & chips
Hunstanton town has a whole range of shops to while away an afternoon, including many that sell locally made products. There are plenty of places to rest for lunch, too - either to sit in, or take away and enjoy on the sea front.
Have a paddle in the sea
The beach at Hunstanton is ideal for families with plenty of rock pools and calm, shallow water. If you wander further up to Old Hunstanton, you'll see the striking pink and white striped cliffs - a combination of Norfolk carstone and white chalk. Don't forget the land train - run by local company Searles - which links the town of Hunstanton and Old Hunstanton.
