We’re making some improvements to our timetables

We’re making some improvements to our timetables, starting on 1 April 2024. Download the new timetables below, and look out for our new printed timetable booklet on buses shortly.

route 18

We’re aware that the journey from St Neots to Cambridge at 0720, via Cambourne and Comberton, is often delayed by traffic on the A428. From 1 April, this bus will depart St Neots earlier at 0705 (0725 in school holidays). We’re using the additional time on this journey to also serve the villages of Abbotsley, Great Gransden and Caxton and avoid traffic congestion on the A428. This journey will continue to call at Wintringham.

We will also be extending the 1632 journey from St Neots, that currently finishes at Barton, through to Central Cambridge.

Buses on route 18 will leave from bay 3 in Drummer Street bus station, instead of bay 5.

route 66

We’re making a number of minor changes to timings throughout the route that will help us deliver a more punctual service. There’s also an additional journey from Fenstanton village at 0711, 0903 & 1153 on Saturdays.

route X2

Additional time is being added to X2 journeys to reflect the volume of traffic congestion on this route. There is also a small change to the route X2 buses will take around the Biomedical Campus on journeys towards Huntingdon. These buses will call opposite Long Road Sixth Form College and Rosie Hospital (bus stops on both Robinson Way and Dame Mary Archer Way). X2 buses will no longer call at the stops by Outpatients or on Puddicombe Way on journeys towards Huntingdon.

route X3

We’re making a number of minor changes to timings throughout the route that will help us deliver a more punctual service. We are also changing the stops that X3 buses call at in Central Cambridge on journeys from Huntingdon/towards the Biomedical Campus. Buses will call at all stops along Madingley Road as currently, then Northampton Street/Castle Street, Bridge Street, Jesus Lane and Emmanuel Street (stop E3) before continuing along St Andrews Street as currently. This means buses call at the same stops on both inbound and outbound journeys, and we should be able to minimise delays currently experienced along Queens Road and on Pembroke Street.

Universal

The Busway track between Cambridge rail station and the Biomedical Campus will be re-opening, and our Universal bus times will be changing on 1 April. Buses on route U1 will use the Busway in both directions, and buses on U2 will use Hills Road in both directions.

U1 buses will now use stops at Selwyn College, Barton Road and Granchester Road Newnham Road. Buses on U2 will now use the stop on West Road.
